Truthfully, I used to dread this time of year. Pool/beach days with friends sounded great until I put on a swimsuit. I would still go, but I’d be thinking about how my body looked the whole time. I’d constantly adjust my bikini to look “flattering,” and cross my arms to hide my stomach (aka my biggest insecurity). In reality, there was, and is, nothing wrong with my body, but those thoughts kept me from being present with people I cared about.

The problem isn’t your body, it’s the swimsuit. Ill-fitting swimsuits that squeeze you in the wrong places and don’t provide any support emphasize your insecurities. I’ve made an effort to stop putting poor quality things on my body, and it has made a WORLD of difference!
